Do protect the planet !
For several years, the world in which we live and evolve has been deteriorating..the young people of Grandmont have taken the initiative to revive the hope in a collective and sustainable way. Through this issue, we wish to share the ecological issues facing our world, in conjunction with the various pro-environment organisations active in our school. Our illustrator, Pierre has honored us with a wonderful drawing to highlight this issue.

A freshly released activist at the carnival
Paul Watson, a man fully committed to his fight and to the ecological revolt.
The carnival is a festive day that all the people of Nice look forward to, being honored by the presence of the famous and passionate Paul Watson, for whom environmental protection has no secrets.
An exemplary activist on a daily basis
Indeed, a 74 year old activist is a defender of oceans and its ecosystem. He fights against illegal fishing, poaching and the massive destruction of our planet. In honor of this canival on the theme of the ocean, the king of this event is this passionate and concerned defendant. During this festival, he has a float with his effigy, imagined and made by the Nice carnaval Cédric Pignataro during the activist's incarcernation. This tank in his honnor is above all an environmentalist and political message, it is made up of waste leading to marine pollution in order to denounce the ravages of the latter .Despite, it's obviously festive and humorous side, this tank is above all a call for the human revolt but it also makes it possible to stress the urgency of saving our planet, its riches and to be grateful. Paul Watson is a man who is not afraid to impose his ideas, sometimes in a very radical way.
The struggles, values and norms that Watson leads
For example, in July 2024 he was arrested in Greenland for throwing a nauseating substance on japanese fleets during an anti-whale operation. This kind of approach is not trivial in humans, on several occasions he advocated the interception of illegal fishing vessels, the sabotage of equipement but also the disruption of the marine trajectory of boats.
His commitment is highlighted by the creation of the ocean defense NGO : sea shepherd founded in 1977 to further defend these ideals and values, but also he says in an interview "I am conservative ; We are no more conservative than an environmentalist. Our reason for being is to preserve and protect." He is also for respect for life and wildlife, he believes that Man should not exploit the ocean for economic and barbaric purposes. These ideas are also explained by the rejection of human superiority over other species, which makes him a man based on anti-speciesism.
Paul Watson is the very image of a man who fights against the protection of our Earth and the environment, which makes him an admirable and convincing person by his actions with radical approaches and by his consequences such as his detention of 5 long months by the Danish authorities for his actions.
Paul Watson was able to mark our society by his actions, which cost him considerable international support and necessary for his release, espacially with the support of the famous Brigitte Barsdot and the President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron.
Our activist is therefore a living proof that we must continue to fight for our environment and our riches that can be suppressed from us by the egocentrism of Man.

Trump re-elected : climate scepticism is back in the White House
Donald Trump has shaken up the country's environmental policy over the past week.
Budget cuts, layoffs, banned words or deleted data from government sites... In just a few weeks, the president of the United States has stepped up his attacks on everything related to climate, environmental protection and public health, undermining years of efforts to combat climate change. Which he regards as a "hoax". It was no secret to anyone, but the speed and scale of Donald Trump’s efforts to dismantle climate policy are unprecedented, and above all incomparable to his first term.
Donald Trump is advocating for the US to withdraw from the Paris agreement again
On the day of his inauguration, January the 20th 2025, The American president turns its back for the second time to the rest of the world in the fight against the climate crisis, despite the multiplication of its impacts, like the fires that ravage Los Angeles. The Republican had already taken the US out of the international treaty during his first term, before the Democrat Joe Biden made their return in 2021.
The US will no longer result in the loss or damage fund
Created following the COP 28 on Climate in Dubai in 2023, this fund aims to compensate developing countries for disasters caused by climate change. The United States, one of the largest emitters of greenhouse gases, committed just over €16 million. Currently, only 27 countries have made pledges. According to NGO 350.org, this decision by the US is "a fatal blow" to the possibility of containing climate change, while creating "a dangerous precedent".
No more JTEP and SDGs
A few days earlier, Donald Trump also reverted to one of the measures put in place at COP 26 2021 : the partnerships for a just energy transition (JETP) signed with South Africa, Indonesia and Vietnam. The objective of these agreements is to financially help these countries to get out of coal through decarbonized energy models. As such, the United States promised $1 billion in non-concessional loans and $56 million in grants. Germany called the US decision to leave these partnerships "regrettable".
The United States announced on March 7th that it rejected the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In 2015, under the presidency of Barack Obama, the country pledged to achieve these new global goals by 2030, including on poverty eradication, gender equality and climate change.

Urbanization : a danger for wild animals
Urbanization is destroying natural habitats, forcing wild animals to adapt or disappear. Between deforestation and pollution, their survival is under increasing threat.
This expansion leads to the reduction or even the destruction of natural habitats, causing species to become isolated or even disappear, while also altering their living conditions. In our cities, wildlife is not always visible, but it is indeed present, although it is threatened by urbanization. Urban expansion thus has a direct impact on local wildlife.City centers which are densely populated create an unwelcoming climate for animals.
The number of urban foxes has quadrupleed in the last 20 years in England. There are thought to be just over 10.000 in the capital alone.Foxes are a real problem for some, who don't hesitate to spend money to have them eliminated, even though hunting is banned in the United Kingdom.
The life expectancy of these foxes in urban areas is half that of their wild counterparts.
Impact on local wildlife
Foxes are carnivores, and they mainly hunt small mammals, birds, and insects ; their presence can disrupt local ecosystems. For example, they can have an impact on populations of small birds or small mammals.Urbanization and intensified agriculture can lead to the loss of foxes' natural habitat. Deforestation, the construction of new infrastructure, and the reduction of green spaces in urban areas diminish their territory and their ability to hide, hunt, and raise their young safely. This increases their exposure to human interaction and other dangers.
Living in a good harmony
Although urbanization presents many challenges, it is possible to envision cities that are more respectful of local wildlife. Several measures can be implemented to promote coexistence between humans and animals in urban areas, such as preserving and restoring green spaces, reducing pollution, and raising awareness among city dwellers about biodiversity protection. Thus, while urbanization brings difficulties, it also offers opportunities to rethink our relationship with nature.
Our role in the future
Urbanization is a major phenomenon that radically changes the relationship between humans and nature in cities. The challenges are significant, but there are solutions to mitigate the negative effects of these changes on wildlife. It is possible to create green spaces specifically for wildlife, reduce pollution, and raise awareness among citizens about the protection of flora and fauna. There is not just one solution. In the future, will we be able to expand our cities while respecting wildlife and plant life ? In any case, we are counting on you to respect them starting now !

A tense meeting at the White House
On February 28 2025, Donald Trump welcomed Volodymyr Zelensky to the Oval Office. A long-awaited and strategic meeting set against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine.
The Friday 28th of February, 2022, the entire world's attention, including mine, was at the meeting between the president of United States Donald Trump and the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. This important event, firstly based on a discussion about the American support to Ukraine in the context of the ongoing war against Russia and peace negotiations, quickly changed into a confrontation of major power, testifying to the geopolitical tensions.
A little bit of context
On February 24th, 2022, Russia was invading Ukraine which stared the relentless war between the two countries. Since then, Ukraine has been struggling to drive the invader away, reaching for help to Europeans countries such as France, but also recently the United States of America. That's why a meeting between the two presidents has been organized.
Americans' hostility against Zelenksy
First of all, this meeting was formal and tensed, nevertheless the conversation was still cordial. However a higher tension started to appear and the tone quickly turned up after the vice president of the United States blamed Zelenksy saying "it's disrespectful for you to come to the Oval Office and try to litigate in front of the American media". Ukraine's president started to reply to Vance's hostility but Trump cut him off telling him that he is "no position to dictate what we're going to feel".
Zelensky kept on trying to respond, but the two men facing him were always answering or cutting him with verbal attacks, which didn't help to lower the tone. Trump accused Zelenksy to be "gambling with World War Three" just after repeating him that he has "allowed himself to be in a very bad position". While he was trying to answer back but again none of the two presidential figure let him finish his sentence or when they did they kept contradicting him and assume he's wrong.
Finally, Zelensky left the place without any agreement having been signed.

How Elon Musk’s behavior and opinion about Vivian challenge his personal image.
We all know that Elon Musk plays a huge role in America politics , maybe slightly too much. Since the 2024 elections, he’s all over the news for his accomplishments but mostly for the controversy surrounding him. As the head of the Department of Government Efficiency under Trump, you might think his behavior is faultless but this is far from true. With his growing popularity, we asked ourselves : how could such an important man possibly act in his relationships with people ? Despite having much to say about the 14 children he had with 4 different women, we decided to focus on his oldest daughter :
Vivian Jenna Wilson
and her influence
The name Vivian first appeared back in 2020 when she was 16. At that age, to transition, you need both parent’s agreements and Elon consented. But as soon as he started getting into politics, he disguise his daughter’s transition into him being tricked by Vivian’s “woke mind”. This event marked the starting point of Elon Musk’s battle against the “woke virus that killed his son”.
In a Daily Wire, posted on the E ! News Youtube channel on 2024, Elon Musk made other many transphobic comments about his Daughter ; and after this interview, he twitted derogatory pripos : "X***** was born gay and slighltly autistic, two attributes that contribute to gender dysphoria [...] But he was not a girl."
With Elon Musk being so close to Trump, his opinions are dangerous to many minorities in the USA. Some may even leave the country and hide from governement to keep being themselves. Elon Musk doesn't have any antecedent in politics and doesn't study past events to lead the governement, his actions are solely based on opinions of republicans.

Will AI become the next human ?
AI is increasingly present in our daily lives, influencing our choices and behaviors. A survey of 100 students aged 16 to 17 at Grandmont High School reveals growing concerns.
97 % of young people surveyed feel misinformed about the risks associated with AI, highlighting the need for better education. Once a useful tool, AI is now ubiquitous, raising concerns about dependency, manipulation and loss of control. 95 % of those surveyed worry about its impact on privacy and data use, underlining the need for stricter oversight. One of the main dangers of AI is that it makes us dependent on it. AI doesn't just help us : it plays an increasingly important role in our day-to-day decisions. Whether through social media, shopping sites or streaming platforms, AI suggests what we should buy, watch or even think about. At first, this may seem useful, but over time, it begins to control our choices. The more we rely on AI, the less we think for ourselves. Researchers fear we're losing our ability to make decisions for ourselves. What was once a tool designed to help us is becoming something that shapes our way of life without us even realizing it. Alarmingly, 40 % of the students surveyed believe that AI is leading to a lack of critical thinking and creativity, showing that this problem is already affecting younger generations.
AI : Friend or Fraud ?
AI not only assists, it also manipulates. Social media algorithms lock us into “information bubbles”, reinforcing beliefs and restricting access to different ideas. This control affects voting, buying clothes and emotions, dividing society and making it easier to control.75 % of students believe that AI manipulates opinions, indicating a growing awareness of this problem. These dangers are real : Anne, a 53-year-old French stylist, lost 830,000 euros to cybercriminals using AI and posing as Brad Pitt. After telling her story, she became a victim of cyberstalking, which led to depression and suicide attempts. Her story highlights the urgent need for stricter regulation against AI-based scams.
The Human cost of AI : Mental health and job loss
Another major concern is how AI is replacing human workers. Many jobs that once required human intervention are now done by machines. These range from writing articles to driving cars. AI is more powerful in many areas, but this means that many people could lose their jobs. The rise of AI threatens to make human workers less important. In the future, workers could be pushed out of many sectors and replaced by machines. This could lead to increased unemployment rates and inequality in society. People who once held important positions could find themselves struggling to find work. The survey results confirm this fear : 95 % of students believe that AI will replace certain jobs, making it an urgent issue for future generations.
AI not only affects social and professional life, but also mental health, particularly among young people. Studies reveal that AI can worsen the situation by suggesting content that feeds anxiety or sadness, or even encouraging harmful behavior. Friendly AI chatbots can unwittingly reinforce feelings of isolation or depression, making the situation worse rather than better. In extreme cases, this has led to self-harm or suicide. Our survey shows that 90 % of students have experienced AI-related problems, such as false information, increased stress and misinformation. In addition, 30 % of those surveyed admit to being afraid of AI, due to the uncertainty it creates. AI also harms physical health due to excessive screen time, resulting in eyestrain, sleep disruption and decreased well-being. Recent tragedies, including those of a Belgian father and a 14-year-old boy who took their own lives after extensive interactions with AI chatbots, highlight the urgent need for stricter regulations to protect vulnerable people, especially minors.
We need to talk about the dangers of AI
Artificial intelligence has great potential, but in its current form it also carries serious risks. It's important that we start talking about these dangers and find a way to regulate AI more carefully. The survey results show that while 100 % of students see AI as both an opportunity and a danger, 70 % feel that AI needs to be regulated. It is now urgent to reinforce regulation and awareness so that AI serves humanity rather than control it. It's time to act before AI becomes the real power shaping our future. How much control do we want AI to have over our lives ?

Should we stop Simeon Nikolov ?
The young 17-years-old national player and his team are breaking the volleyball university tournament.
Simeon Nikolov is a player of the Bulgarian volleyball team, at just 17 years old he is already 2m07, his brother Aleksandar is also a pro player at the Lube club. Simeon has been a right-handed setter at the Long Beach college team since 2023 and he is leading them to the gold medal...
The Long Beach college team has been active since 1970 in California, they already won the NCAA (national collegiate athletic association) championship several times in 1991, 2018 and 2019. Simeon joined Long Beach in 2023 ,he has already broken historical records in the NCAA, as an example in 2024 he served at 135 Km/h, the fastest serve ever seen in the NCAA tournament. All those records made him viral on social medias.
Is the pro player rightful to play in college ?
Thus, a lot of people think that this absolute giant should not play in a NCAA championship because of ethical and equality questions around Simeon. But what could we do ? Should we ban him ? Surely not, “He could be the absolute difference says” Mitch Sterkenburg and this is true, this guy is making a huge show all over the world, he even created his own trick called the “Nikolov fake pass”
As a conclusion, we could say that this monster of volleyball is breaking the championship as much as he entertains the audience which is the main purpose of the NCAA tournament. Simeon Nikolov is now a superstar and he is enlightening university Volleyball in the USA.

The downfall of Kanye West
« im a nazi » declares the rapper Kanye West this friday, where he shared on X everything that « went through his head » : insults, anti semitic rhetorics.
The one who is known as Ye is known as one of the biggest star today in America : rapper, singer, designer, ex husband of the famous Kim Kardashian, the star has everything for a drama free life with fame, succes and money. But this doesn’t seem to fit the rapper’s project who sure likes to be the center of attention , with countless scandals and dramas. Since the beginning of his career in 2001, he always liked to expose problematic opinions, especially against the jewish community, but somehow still managed to get out of it, his albums still among the most popular at their release
What happened ?
Suddenly, after 2 years of innactivity on the social media X, the artist lost his mind and spent hours posting scandalizing tweets. He started to talk about hitler and the jewish community : « call me yaydolf hitler » which is the mix of his name and adolph hitler or « hitler was so freh » « i love Hitler, now what bitches » Its not the first time that Kanye west shows his admiration for the dictator, in 2023, he even created white shirts with swastikas on it, the symbol of the nazi governement during world war 2. He also posted tweets about P-Diddy, the american rapper currently accused of sexual trafic. He supported his friend with posts asking to release him « Donald Trump please free my brother puff » puff being another nickname for P-diddy. He also came back on what happened at the grammys ceremony a week before .
Indeed , he attended to the ceremony with his wife, Bianca Censori who came on the red carpet naked with a fully transparent dress and a black coat, that she took off, reveiling the shocking outfit . He declared : « i dominate my wife, she ain’t no woke as feminist shit » « people say the red carpet look was her decision...Yes, i don’t make her do nothing she doesn’t want to, but she definitely wouldn’t have been able to do it without my approval » Antisemitism, racism, mysoginy or support towards sexual harraser and sex trafficker, Kanye for sure didn’t hold back and said a lot of illegal thing, confident that his celebrity will protect him just like it did fot the past years, when he benefited from great clemency by his family and his fans.
Theories ?
In the face of this words, people tried to understand what happened to Kanye West, and some other tried to find him excuses, but is there really an excuse for such acts and statements ?Nevertheless, several hypothesis seems to bring people into agreement : some people excuse Kanye West because of his mental Health issues.
Indeed, the rapper has been diagnosed with bipolarity , he is a type 1 bipolar, which is the most intense form of the disorder . « in those moments, i say something to chase it of my mind , as if i had tourettes’s syndrome » he explained. But accoring to a lot of specialists, this doesn’t justify his behaviour. Other people think that the star acts this way just to provoke people and be on the front of the scene, be the center of attention, or that it’s a weird way to promote a coming album. For some reason, almost no one actually thinks that Kanye west really mean and believe what he says. Indeed, he for exemple love to bring up Hiltler and yet he showed his lack of knowledge about the dictator in an interview back in 2022 saying that « Hitler invented motorways and microphones » It’s very doubtful that the artist wouldn’t know what hitler is actually known for, wich could bring us to one of the hypothethis we’ve talked about : Kanye west just wants to provoke people, his aim is to shock people and make people talk about him.
There are also other theories which say that in reality, after his disappearance of several weeks in 2022, it would not be the real Kanye West but a “clone”, as Kanye West had said in an interview “if I disappear, and I reappear it's not me”. As well as other people talking about conspiracy theories involving Kanye West in all this. His fans use this as a "proof" to explain his behaviour.
Consequences
So, was it indeed a way to provoke people ? Was it his bipolarity making him lose his mind ? Or a "clone" ? I guess we’ll never know what really is wrong with this man, but whatever the reason, it doesn’t excuse his behaviour, not when it affects entire communities. What we can affirm is that his posts on tweeter recently really affected his career : many people were revolted and stopped searching excuses for this man, and maybe after all these years of impunity, the artist will finally face the consequences of his actions, and maybe we are witnessing the downfall of the famous Kanye West.

Paris Fashion week : Worldscaled event
Paris Fashion Week : boldness, sustainability, and fashion without limits
Catwalks by major fashion houses such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dior and Saint Laurent once again impressed with remarkable collections. Designers opted for bright colors and bold designs, while emphasizing the use of sustainable and responsible materials. Eco-responsible fashion emerged as a major trend, with designers favoring recycled or organic fabrics.
Another notable trend is gender-neutral fashion, with more and more designers blurring the boundaries between genders through unisex garments, promoting more inclusive fashion.
In addition to the big names, young designers have also been attracting attention with bold, innovative collections. Talents such as Aïda Assar and Julien Martineau impressed with modern creations blending tradition and avant-garde.

Snow White 2025 : a hit or miss ?
A modern version with more diversity and who breaks the codes
The 2025 live-action remake of Snow White, directed by Marc Webb, has created a lot of debate. Rachel Zegler plays Snow White, and Gal Gadot is the Evil Queen. Some people were not happy with the casting choice of Zegler because she is a mixed raced actress.
Animated version
Snow White's animated 2D movie is adapted from the Grimm's tale. In this first version published in 1837 who figures as the first animated feature film of Walt Disney studios, called Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Snow White is chased by her family. She is going to a house in wich some Dwarfs are living. She helps them and is going to find her husband.
Script changes
The film tries to modernize the classic story. Snow White is shown as a stronger and independent character than in previous versions of the fairy tale. Her relationship with the Prince is more developed. Although the new songs are quite nice, they are not as iconic as the original ones.
Negative criticals
The decision to replace the seven dwarfs by CGI magical creatures also generated controversy. There are too many digital effects, making it look artificial for the audience. The CGI creatures do not have the charm of the original dwarfs and the mix between realism and fantasy is not always well balanced.
In the end, this version of Snow White is interesting but mixed success. The film remains entertaining for families, but fans of the classic will likely be disappointed.

Grand Theft Auto VI - Why so awaited ?
Wondering why GTA VI is so highly anticipated ? Let’s explore it together and talk about this game that’s about to revolutionize the gaming world.
One of the main reasons GTA VI is getting so much attention is the sheer scale of its development. Rumors suggest a budget exceeding $1 billion — making it possibly the most expensive game ever made. Rockstar Games is clearly aiming to set a new benchmark in the industry, with cutting-edge graphics, expansive open worlds, and immersive storytelling that promise to redefine what players expect from a video game.
A legendary legacy
The Grand Theft Auto franchise has consistently raised the bar with each release. GTA V, launched in 2013, has sold over 190 million copies worldwide and remains one of the most played and streamed games more than a decade later. The series’ mix of storytelling, satire, and open-world chaos has earned it a loyal global fanbase that’s been eagerly awaiting the next chapter.
An unusually long wait
It’s been over 10 years since the last main entry — a rare gap in the fast-paced world of gaming. This long development period has only fueled excitement. Every teaser, leak, and rumor adds to the hype, with fans dissecting every frame of available footage. Rockstar has taken its time, and expectations are sky-high.
GTA VI isn’t just a game — it’s a cultural event in the making. And by the looks of it, the wait just might be worth it.

Change for the OG
However this game is a whole change for otrdinary soul player because it's not a soulslike like for example darks soul III and it's a way more cooperative and base himself on the online mode. Also, the gameplay change a lot, there is too much reused content and the open world is less ambitious. But even with this, Fromsoftware have already prove their skills with their precedent games (Demon Soul, Dark souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro, Armored Core and Elden Ring).

Modern art : the comeback in Paris
A new event in Paris brings together artists from twenty-five different countries at the Grand Palais.
Contempory art is the whole of works from 1945 to the present day. It’s the grouping of different aesthetic practices ; especially in the estate of plastic arts. Contempory art can be defined with many hypotheses because it includes many styles and artistic movements. This can reflect societal, political and artistic transformations. Firstly, contemporaneity is a historical notion that emerged at the end of the Second World War. Next, we can also think that contempory art began in the sixties thanks to the arrival of pop art which marked the break with modern art. There are many artists who represent this, like Andy Warhol who is the icon because he is the creator of the famous picture “Campbell’s Soup Cans”. Other artists are known for contemporary art for example Sarah Brahim and Ugo Schiavi.
Andy Warhol, Sarah Brahim and Ugo Schiavi
To exhibit contemporary and modern art, a recent event, which will take place from April 3 to 6, 2025, will be help in Paris, France. This will be the 27th edition of Art Paris, which will be hosted at the Grand Palace after four years of renovation. 170 exhibitors and more than 900 artists will be gathered at Art Paris. Numerous themes will be proposed, such as “Immortal, a look at painting” and “Out of bounds”. At this exhibition there will be 60 % French exhibitors and 40 % foreign exhibitors, including South Africa, Belgium, Canada, China, Kuwait, Italy, Japan, Hong Kong, Guatemala, Singapore and Slovakia.
For the first time, the City of Paris is partnering with Art Paris, with a stand dedicated to the Fonds d’art contemporain :
The only public collection exhibited among the galleries present at the fair.
The City of Paris collection boasts a rich collection of nearly 23,500 works dating from the late 19th century to the present day, which is enriched annually as part of the municipal policy of supporting creative actors.
During the fair, the Fonds d’art contemporain – Paris Collections will present a selection of works from its collections that resonate with the figurative theme of Art Paris. Several well-known themes and artists will be featured, such as Saudi-American artist Sarah Brahim and French artist Ugo Schiavi, who will present their collaborative work entitled "NEUMA, La Cérémonie Oubliée." This installation will mark the culmination of their participation in the Villa Hegra residency program. These works were created during a year-long residency at Villa Hegra, in the heart of the exceptional archaeological and natural site of Al-Ula, Saudi Arabia. Also featured will be Simon Lamunière
who explores contemporary creation through the prism of crossbreeding, the hybridization of forms and cultures, and the back-and-forth between origins, gender, kinship, history, and geography. Entitled "Out of Limits," its theme will lead to a thematic journey within the exhibition.
